Privacy Policy
TheseJugs ("we", "the game") is a free browser puzzle game at thesejugs.com. This policy explains what data the game uses and why. We keep it minimal: you can play the entire game without an account.
Information stored on your device
Your game progress — which levels you've solved, your best star ratings, the puzzle you're currently on, and your settings — is stored in your browser's localStorage on your own device. This never leaves your device unless you choose to enable cross-device sync (below). You can clear it any time with "Reset all progress" in Settings, or by clearing your browser data.
Optional account & leaderboard
If you choose to save your progress across devices or appear on the leaderboard, we use Supabase (our backend provider) to store:
- An anonymous, randomly generated account identifier.
- Your game progress (levels solved and stars), so it can sync between your devices.
- A display name you choose for the public leaderboard (a fun default is assigned; you can change it).
- If you opt in to email sync, your email address — used only to send you a one-time sign-in code. We do not send marketing email.
Your leaderboard display name, farthest level, and star total are publicly visible on the leaderboard. Your email address is never shown publicly.
Advertising
We may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and personalize ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also review options at aboutads.info/choices.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand how the game is used. This does not identify you personally.
Children
TheseJugs is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
You can play entirely anonymously, reset your local progress at any time, sign out of sync, and opt out of personalized ads as described above. To request deletion of any account data associated with your email or leaderboard entry, contact us.
